Geography

Iraq is part of Southwest Asia and situated in the northeast part of the great Arab homeland .Iraq lay between Latitudes 29.5-37.25 and longitudes 38.45-45.48. It has an area of 438,446 square kilometers with the two great rivers (the Euphrates and Tigris ) In the center part ,astride the Tigris lies Baghdad the capital. Iraq is bounded on the north by Turkey ,on the west by Syria and Jordan ,on the South by Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Arabian Gulf and on the East by Iran. About 20%of the whole country are Mountainous snow –clad in the north ,59.5%of the whole country are limestone plateau in the center and the southern flat lowland with many lakes and marshes .Two great rivers , the Tigris and the Euphrates, traverse the country from the north to the south and they meet in Qurna To Be Shat Al Arab which run threw Basra and pour in Arabian Gulf .
Population
Iraq has a population of over 22 millions, of which the majority are Arabs . There are several minorities which enjoy full national and cultural rights within the overall nation framework of the Iraq Republic. Freedom to Practice their religious rites is protected by law for all religious denominations, and their major feast days are official holidays for them .The official language is Arabic ,but there are also other officially recognized language ;Kurdish ,Turkomanand Syriac . The foreign language most widely used is English
Museums
Pioneers Museum: located in the second floor of Saddam Arts center where the work, of the pioneer artist are exhibited. They include water and oil paintings, different sketches and sculpture works dates back to (1900-1949). Saddam Arts center lies in the Haifa street.
The Baghdad Museum Traditional professions and popular customs of Baghdad represented in colorful life-size sculpture. Many of these professions and customs are fast disappearing but they are still very interesting to see even as images.
Natural Hitory: Museum Rusafa, Bab AL-Muadham. This Musuem contde as an instating for research (biology) The history includes samples animal, botanical and geological specimens for scientific purposes, and 26000 books.
The Arab Bath Socialist Party Museum In Baghdad , It holds the history and the struggle of the Arab Bath Socialist party.
Steadfastness and Defiance Museum: In Baghdad. It relates the effects of the thirtiet aggression on Iraq, led by the united states of Ameriica and its allies, and the Iraq reconstruction campaign after the aggression.
Qadissiya Panorama: 44Kms. east of Baghdad . It is the fifth panorama in the world and it was desgned on four defancine towers with in a fast base of some dounand 40m. high. The observer can see the historical events portrayed are those of great battle of qadissiya by the round star stops with an eleveter. Elect dueter. The panorama is made up of consecutive scenes in which historical events are portrayed in raphic detail, aided with very striking light and sound effects. This battle was 110m. n higt and an area of 164059m.The general design of this building consist of four hall made hold a antiquities and folkore museum, acinema for historical display films, library and halls for conference and meeting.
The Mosul Museum In Mosul ,It has on display a large collection of finds that represent the successive civilizations of Iraq .
